What Adoptees Say
About Adoption
You may be told by agencies and counselors
that adoption is a win-win-win situation. But what they are not
mentioning to you is that adoption can be both hurtful and confusing
to adoptees. Abandonment, rejection, anger, and grief are all common
for adoptees, and can be severe and long-lasting. You may be told
that adoption is "the loving option," but can a child
really process that Mommy loved them so much that she gave them
away? We don't abandon those we love.
